Small Front Yard Design

This small front yard began with grass that was struggling to survive. It was removed and replaced with a custom designed partition (wall with mini pergola), a stone fountain and plants more fitting for a small space. Each Feng Shui element is considered, represented and balanced. This front yard has appeal in every season and gives the homeowners and their guest something to enjoy.

Water and Fire in Your Landscape

This backyard hosts a cascading water feature in the Abundance corner (back left-hand corner). Water, especially moving water, represents the flow of money in Feng Shui. The Abundance corner is a fabulous place for a water feature. The Fireplace was designed to fit into the Fame area of the backyard. The Fame area is governed by the Fire Element and represents your reputation, how you are known.

Yin/Yang Garden Path

The homeowner requested the shape of a Yin / Yang symbol somewhere in her yard. She also needed a path system for her and her wheelbarrow to move around easily in the backyard. I designed this path in the shape of a Yin / Yang symbol in such a way that the path is wide enough for the homeowner and her wheelbarrow. And, the transitions/turns are comfortable to make. The comfort of walking along a path is a crucial element that some overlook for style alone.

Patio Design with Firepit

This is a small portion of a multi-level patio system in a large, sloping back yard in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The homeowners wanted a place to entertain, places for the kids to play and for things to flow together. With a sloped yard, the energy will rush. So my job was to slow it down. I accomplished this by creating different levels with a few steps connecting each patio area. This creates different outdoor 'rooms' and slows the rushing Feng Shui energy, causing it to meander. One level has the outdoor kitchen with a large table for guests to enjoy the cuisine, one level has a pergola with outdoor couches and outdoor rug, another level has a built-in settee and a fire pit. Below the patio system is a large expanse of grass and a sand pit for the children to play.
